Creating effective internal communication for a workforce of over 2,000 employees requires a strategic approach. For a large general contractor in the Southeast, I developed a monthly email newsletter that was sent via HubSpot to keep the team informed and engaged. The newsletter highlighted critical topics such as a transformational safety campaign, innovative frameworks for job site efficiency, and regional sales updates. As the newsletter writer, story finder, graphic designer, CRM manager, and publisher, I ensured each issue was not only informative but visually engaging and easy to navigate.

Transformational Safety Campaign: The newsletter served as a platform for the company’s safety initiatives, focusing on new safety protocols, success stories, and how employees could contribute to a safer workplace.
Employee Framework & Innovation: A key theme was innovation, where stories from the field demonstrated how employees were leveraging new frameworks and techniques to complete work more efficiently or cost-effectively. Responsibilities
As the primary driver behind the newsletter’s creation and distribution, my responsibilities included:
Writing & Content Development: I wrote all the copy for the newsletter, ensuring the tone was engaging and aligned with the company’s messaging while also effectively communicating key updates.
Story Finding: Sourced stories from job sites that highlighted employee innovation, sales achievements, and safety milestones. I worked closely with teams across the region to gather the most impactful stories.
Graphic Design: Designed the layout of the newsletter using HubSpot’s email tools, ensuring each issue was visually appealing and easy to read on both desktop and mobile devices.
CRM Management: Managed the newsletter’s distribution list within HubSpot, ensuring that all 2,000+ employees received the newsletter each month. I also tracked engagement metrics to continuously optimize the content.
Publishing & Analytics: Once each issue was ready, I published the newsletter via HubSpot and monitored open rates, click-through rates, and other key metrics to measure success and make data-driven improvements.
